SYNOPSIS

Amelia Grant grew up in post-Second Revolution America as the country slowly stabilized, but she knew from a young age that she was not safe from the strict laws of her government. At eighteen years old, while completing her Mandatory Civil Service, Amelia struggles to hide her forbidden feelings for her best friend Bethany. Upon finding out her younger sister Lydia is involved with the Coalition, the newest opposition group to the Central Government, Amelia is torn between wanting to fight for a better future for others like her in America, or fleeing to Canada and seeking refuge away from the Commission of the People.

There are discussions of the appointment of a new Leader of America starting in Chapter 14. These are followed with questions about if Bryant Morris will also be replaced. In Chapter 1 of Inside, Lily mentions that the first Leader of America after Thomas Ankell was Hank Fannen, and mentions that by the time the fifty years have passed between The Coalition and Inside leadership of the Commission of the People has passed to Dana Christenson.

Dana Christenson: Dana Christenson, the villain of Inside and the successor to Bryant Morris, makes frequent appearances in The Coalition Trilogy as the man he was before he was imprisoned by the Commission of the People and turned into Dana Christenson. His first appearance is in Chapter 1 of Forged Under Fire.
"Undesirables": The Commission of the People's list of criteria for the ideal American citizen post-Second Revolution mentioned in Chapter 3 was crafted intentionally so that no one was likely to actually meet the requirements. A very small population of people may qualify, but it should be noted that the author of this series does not meet the criteria in many ways.
The Traveling Circus: The traveling circus Bethany and Amelia visit during their first date is Roadside Paradise. However, Roadside Paradise during this time acts very much like the Coalition and tries to get magical beings out of America as they know that Bryant Morris knows about the existence of magical beings and they are more worried about him taking them as experiments of the Commission of the People than being captured by any international chapters of the Guild of the Red Dragon.
V: Also related to Roadside Paradise, V and his family still run and control the company, but following the events at the end of Roadside Paradise, V is considerably weaker and can really only protect the troupe, care for those he is trying to smuggle out of the country, and keep himself in disguise since his physical appearance would result in him being imprisoned or even killed by the Commission of the People if he was seen as his usual human appearance within the borders of America due to appearing Middle Eastern.
Athena & Doc: Yet again related to Roadside Paradise, by this point in the timeline, both Athena and Doc have passed away. They lived long, healthy lives and passed within one year of each other. They did not have children and moved to Portugal when the first rumblings of the Second American Revolution began. They lived in Portugal together until their deaths.
Andrew Donovan's Actions: Andrew Donovan's actions at the end of the Roadside Paradise series paved the way for the Second American Revolution to take place. The fear and anger and hatred that was sparked by his use of V's powers created enough national imbalance that when Thomas Ankell began gathering his revolutionaries, people were easily influenced into the horrifically extreme actions of the Second Revolution.
K's Younger Brother: "Tommy" is K's younger brother, who he is talking to on the phone in Chapter 15, is the father of Lily in Inside.
Western Chapter Hotel: The hotel that the Coalition has taken over as their base of operations is condemned. There are certain channels of electricity in the building due to the ongoing security lighting for the building, but it is not something that is allowed to be used frequently. There is also running water, but the water heaters do not allow for hot water. It is important to know that the reason the Coalition has been able to take over this building is that the building was inherited by a young man around the time of the Coalition's formation who was school friends with the previous leader of the Western Chapter of the Coalition, so there is an agreement that, as long as the building remains condemned, with no plans for demolition, the Coalition can use the hotel (as long as the Officials do not take notice).
