Project: D.E.M.O.N
Project: D.E.M.O.N. was a project put in place by Central and the Commission of the People to test the limits of human capcity, and eventually created what they believed to be the ultimate "weapon" out of humans.
THE INCITING INCIDENT
The final test done on subject Eina (future name: Hyreyna Kaneaka) combined incomplete notes from Bryant Morris on celestially-cursed humans (vampires, werewolves, shifters, etc) obtained during his studies under the Guild of the Red Dragon (see: Roadside Paradise), and splicing of DNA with various animal DNA into human sequences broke the evolutionary safeguards on a human's ability to access the magic of the universe. This effectively forced not only a new evolution of humans physically, but magically created a creature that destroyed the framework of the Balance. This was the spark of the Second Shift.

THE LEGACY / AFTERMATH
The immediate result was the first months of "The Second Shift," a period where reality began to collapse. The Second Shift spread outward from Earth and started overtaking the universe in a shockwave pattern, leading to natural disasters, human violence, and the rules of reality collapsing. Long-term, Project: D.E.M.O.N. led to the demon species, which were moved to thier own world to limit the damage done to humans, and created thier own society and culture.
